The Stately Homo. A celebration of the life of Quentin Crisp
Published : 2000
Editor: Paul Bailey
A tribute to a unique character, a true British eccentric and artist.
Parts of the book try to examine his character and way of life, parts are essays on subjects such as gay politics and Crisp's status as a gay icon.
It contains many extracts from Quentin's own writings, showing him to be a man of constant and unbreakable courage, dignity and graciousness. When assaulted by a gang of thugs in North London he responded: "I seem to have annoyed you gentlemen in some way".
