Ray's Favourites
( Favourite Quotes, Books and Films )
Favourite quote about Quentin.
"If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style."
Of all his quotes it's the one that makes me laugh the most, and I think says in a single sentence what his philosophy of life was all about.
My Favourite quote about Quentin.
Again sorry Heather but you really hit the nail on the head there.
"as one of the truly great figures of the 20th century....He was a true philosopher and the only philosopher who actually lived his own philosophy .... The soft light of his sunset enriched all our lives."
- John Hurt
Favourite book by Quentin.
Resident Alien
Because it made me laugh so much, and because it showed how happy he was in America during those years.
Favourite book about Quentin.
The Stately Homo
Because it was written with such respect and affection.
Favourite film about Quentin.
The Naked Civil Servant.
I have seen Resident Alien, and while I enjoyed it and it showed the level of respect and affection with which he was held in America, never the less The Naked Civil Servant is the one which shows you who he was and what his life stood for.
