On prejudice :
"It is not the simple statement of facts that ushers in freedom; it is the constant repetition of them that has this liberating effect. Tolerance is the result not of enlightenment, but of boredom"
- Quentin Crisp

Author : Quentin Crisp

"Most books on manners are as basically conservative as Papal Encyclicals and make concessions to social change begrudingly, as if there was something wrong with life evolving to any state beyond the Middle Ages. My approach is different: I employ the guidelines of the past where they are still useful - otherwise, I toss them aside. I believe the human mind is better engaged through imagination than obedience."
